A unique summer experience designed for dancers 12+ who are interested in cultivating their artistic expression through collaboration, internal reflection, improvisation, and intention. Creator and Artistic Director, Megan Long, designed this program to inspire pre-professional dancers to value their inherent worth and discover what makes them a one of a kind mover, creator, and human.

The one week summer experience takes place in Forest City, NC. Daily classes include:

  • Contemporary, Modern, or Ballet technique

  • Improvisation

  • Composition/Choreography

  • Partnering

  • Wellness/Dance Kinesiology

  • Professional Prep/Marketing

  • Meditation/Gratitude Practice

A professional photo and video shoot are included in the experience to help dancers begin to build their artistic portfolio. The week concludes with a public informal showing of choreography built by the dancers in collaboration with Megan.

"The most important thing I learned during my two years of introspect was to accept myself for who I am. We were poured into by the best teacher I know. She went above and beyond to make sure we learned not only more about dance, but more about ourselves as humans"

-Raven Adrianse, introspect 2019 & 2020 dancer

"As a dancer that has done introspect for two years, I always find a way to grow, whether it is as a person or as a dancer. You learn to trust the people around you and create valuable friendships. You learn things about yourself that you might not have realized. introspect is my favorite week of the year and my favorite thing I have done as a dancer"

Megan Long is an Atlanta based dancer, choreographer, and teacher. She values creating movement that evokes a sense of self-awareness and personal discovery. Megan strives to connect deeply with the dancers she works with and the audiences they impact. She delves into ideas that push fellow artists to look within and search for what drives them as authentic human beings. She believes that in order to understand the world we live in, we must begin by understanding ourselves.

Megan graduated Summa Cum Laude from Winthrop University with a BA in Dance & Psychology in 2017. After graduation, Megan found herself growing as a dancer, choreographer, and person in NYC before moving to Atlanta. She specializes in contemporary, tap, and jazz choreography. Megan is currently a company member with Sideways Contemporary Dance Company and a teacher at Atlanta Dance Central in Roswell, GA. In addition to Megan's professional life in Atlanta, she also serves as Artistic Director of Little Broadway Studio based in Western North Carolina.  On the weekends, you can find Megan traveling to competitive studios throughout the southeast to set choreography or working backstage with Applause Talent connecting with dancers throughout the U.S.

Her most important vision as an artist and dancer is introspect and she hopes you have the courage to jump into an experience that will change the way you view yourself as an artist and a human.
